Why do I get an error when I try to sort by Blob column?
Earlier versions of Firebird allowed this, but the result was wrong. It was sorting on BLOB ID, instead of BLOB data, which is quite useless. Newer versions disallow this.
There are yet no plans to introduce BLOB sorting. The main problem is that sort record space is limited to 64kB. This limitation might be removed in Firebird 3.
